Liposuction

Liposuction is the process of breaking down excess fat in the body and removing it with the help of a vacuum system.

This can be used on areas with high level of fat tissue such as legs, abdomen, waist, arms, back, hips and buttocks.

How long will the surgery take?

Liposuction takes 1 to 3 hours.

How is liposuction performed?

In areas with high fat content, small incisions are formed and tubes are placed.

The fats extracted with vacuum break down inside the body.

Where the areas are small, it is applied with local anaesthetic. For large areas, however, anaesthesia is achieved with both local anaesthetics and medicines administered through the vein.

What is the treatment period?

After the surgery, the patient has to stay overnight in the hospital.

The patient is provided with a special corset following the operation, which makes moving easier and reduces oedema.

Bruising, swelling and numbness are temporary in the area where the fat is removed. After the second week, oedema is dissipated and weight loss begins. The results will start to show in five to six weeks.

For how many days should patients coming from their native country stay?

Patients visiting Antalya from abroad for Liposuction Surgery must stay for at least 8 days. They will not be granted permission for flights before this date.

Patients should be in Antalya 2 days before the Liposuction procedure day.
